Dr. Hessler works with dermatologists and Mohs surgeons who remove the skin cancer. Once they have removed it, she performs the plastic surgery repair and closure. The procedure is usually done under local anesthesia with sedation, and takes 1 to 3 hours, depending on the how large the wound is, and where it is on the body.
