While many individuals have a beautiful neckline, some are genetically prone to collect fat under the jawline.
How is neck liposuction performed?
Neck liposuction can be performed under light sedation, deep sedation, or local anesthesia. A small (1 to 2 millimeter) incision will be created in a natural crease underneath the chin. Dr. Hessler will carefully dissect the skin away from the underlying structures and gently remove the fat. She will also take particular care to make incisions that leave behind only the most minimal visibility.
What to expect after neck liposuction
As with any invasive procedure, minimal bruising and bleeding can occur. To minimize the occurrence of bleeding, it’s best to avoid any medications that can pre-dispose towards bleeding. Please see our Patient Resources for more information on post-procedure instructions for more.
